FAQs

Q: Who can use this website? Will your approaches work for different types of businesses?

A:  Our processes can work with virtually any type of business, but are most applicable to businesses such as:

  • Retail Businesses (including local off-line retailers, national & international off-line retailers, online retailers and hybrids)
  • Middle-men Businesses (such as wholesalers, distributors and some retailers)
  • Manufacturing Businesses (including manufacturers of  physical products and/or digital products)
  • Service Businesses (including those providing services in the physical world and those providing services in the online world)

Q: Does it matter where my business is located?  Is this still relevant to me?

A:   The resources on this website are relevant to businesses all over the world. There is some information that is more relevant to Australian businesses and some to my own home-state of WA, but it’s generally pretty universal.   It’s true, I do a lot of my advisory work locally in Australia but I also work with business owners anywhere.  Really, it does not matter where you are located as our work can be  done online using Skype, emails, video-conferencing, webinars  and other collaborative tools.

Q: What is the purpose of this Smarter Web Strategies.com website?

A:  It’s all about providing smarter web strategies for business owners and managers.  Smarter tactics and tools too.  Stuff that works.

Firstly, let’s think about business owners.  And I’ve been one for over 30 years, so this applies to me as well as every other business owner I’ve ever known…  To be successful in your own business, you need to know a lot about a lot.  The same goes for business managers – although the responsibilities and consequences are a bit different.

You try to stay up to date, but it’s easy to get swamped.  Especially with all of the changes happening online. Stuff changes every day.  It gets confusing and often overwhelming.  And to make it worse, many business people  turn to the wrong people for advice.  They may go down a wrong path and buy something wrong – or something that was not smart or strategically clever.

When it comes to business planning, I believe business people need to be able to draw back from the day-to-day stuff  going on in their business and take a big picture view.  See the seemingly short-term ad-hoc random changes for what they really are – which is generally part of long-term trends.  See the trends, see the patterns and make sense out of confusion.

I guide  business people through the maze so you can achieve what you want in your business by working smarter WITH the trends and not against them.  And get rid of the  overwhelm and confusion.

working WITH the trends of the Digital online world, what would be the single smartest strategy you could recommend to business owners and managers to implement over the next 12 months?  And what are the tactics and tools you would recommend them to use to quickly and profitably see results in the next 90 days?
