Workflowy for making lists and keeping your brain more organized

Do you want an easy tool to keep your thoughts and tasks better organized?

Yesterday I came across a list-making tool called Workflowy and I’ve started to use it.

It’s free – but that wasn’t why I tried it.  What got me in was the comment from Matt Cutts, head of Webspam for Google. Matt said, “WorkFlowy has become one of three tabs that I keep open in my browser, along with Gmail and Google Calendar.”

Matt Cutts is something of a guru.  His Klout score (for what it is worth) is 84. If Matt finds a tool valuable, I’ll take a look at it.

You can too. If you sign up with this link, you’ll get an extra 250 list items per month – free.

Smarter Marketing

Actually, the main reason for this post was not to promote Workflowy, but rather to let you know about  their smarter win-win viral “Member get Member” marketing program.  We can all learn a lot from it.

Here’s how it works.  Workflowy has a Free service and a Pro version.

The Free  service gives you 500 list items per month, and if you sign up from a recommendation from an existing member, both you and the existing member get an extra 250 items per month. It’s a member get member bonus, but I really like how it is win-win. Both people get additional benefit and it encourages viral promotion as the new member can then share it with others on the same basis.

You may want the Pro version for $4.99 per month or $49 pa. It gives you unlimited list items, password protection when sharing your lists with others plus a few other things. But the free version may be enough.  I think it will be for me – for the moment anyway.

Workflowy.  It could become a favorite tool of mine too. I’ll let you know.
